Dealers Notice and Hallmarking

One of the requirements of the Hallmarking Act 1973 is that all dealers supplying precious metal jewellery (or other items made of precious metal) shall display a notice explaining the approved hallmarks.

A Hallmark is your trust guarantee and one of the oldest form of customer protection. Demonstrated below is our personal and registered sponsors mark at MONT Jewellery. You will find this as the first mark on every one of our hallmarked pieces. The beauty of a sponsor's mark is the ability for it to be traced back to the maker for generations to come. Your hallmark also tells the story of the year it was created, the materials that were used and where it was tested for purification.

If a piece of jewellery, falls within a certain exemption weight, you might not find a hallmark. The thresholds are 1 gram for gold, 7.78 grams for silver and 0.5 grams for Platinum.

MONT Jewellery values a fusion of lighthearted design ideas, yet is serious about fine industry standards and craftsmanship. MONT sees it as a sense of duty to be clear with materials used, keeping transparency, quality and affordability key. Learn more about the materials we use.
